BONUS ROUND! Song from Oren (and map!!!)

Back again for some bonus material! On Twitter this week we talked about where our worlds came from, and I remembered I had written this ages ago, as a sort of creation story for my world.

Forgive me: it rhymes.

THE MAKING OF THE EARTH

In the beginning, all was not there,
Not bird nor beast nor human hair.
The God of All came from above,
And crafted Oren with his love.

What once was vast he gathered ‘round,
He made the bird and beast abound.
He formed the land between the sea,
What was not there, he made be.

He molded trees and stood them tall,
He shaped the mountains like a wall.
He cut the cliff, and waterfall,
He made the insect, great and small.

He furrowed ground and made the rivers,
Dividing it in little slivers.
He made the fish in rivers teem,
And in the little slivers, stream.

He made the spring to plant the wheat,
He made the summer full of heat.
He made the autumn winds to blow;
He made the winters fill with snow.

He made the sun for shining bright,
He made the moon to rule at night.
He made the stars at night to show,
Should we lose which way to go.

When everything was put in place,
He made the humans, every race.
He scattered them across the land,
And guided them with loving hand.

And so we sit in all this wonder,
Wind, and rain, and rumbling thunder;
Mountains, plains, and woods, and shore,
Wondering what he did it for.

EPIC BONUS!!! Below is the first draft of the map of Oren, way back in the beginning when it was still called Daeling. The little pen mark that says "Ostflir" shows approximately where Andelen actually is (it's not an equatorial land mass) and some of the names and shapes have changed since then, or will change. And measurements are just in miles now, not Finn. And I probably went a little nuts with the ocean currents. Otherwise it's a decent approximation :-)
